The online Mines Portal developed by IT Department has greatly streamlined the application process and boosted revenue collection for the Mines and Minerals department. Notably, the portal has generated an impressive 50 million rupees in application fees in the first seven days of its opening, a remarkable achievement that highlights the department's efforts to leverage technology for efficient governance.
02:32:51 PM 13 January, 2025The online portal for new Mines and Mineral was opened for applicants on 6th Jan 2025. Since of its opening, around 609 companies were registered. These companies filled approximately 1126 digital applications, generated roughly 911 challans, uploaded 780 challans and submitted around Rs. 39.00 million fee. The portal is created and developed by Information Technology Department GB in collaboration with Directorate of Mines and Minerals GB. The successful launch of this portal marks a significant milestone in streamlining the mines and mineral application process
02:24:50 PM 07 January, 2025A meeting was held between the Chief Secretary of Gilgit Baltistan, IT Department and Mines and Minerals Department, to discuss the automation and operationalize of the Lease Management Information System. The IT Department showcased the final version of the system, which aims to provide a transparent and efficient platform for mining lease applications ¹. The Chief Secretary directed that the system be made live as soon as possible, enabling applicants to submit their mining lease applications efficiently. This initiative is expected to promote ease of doing business and good governance in the region. The Lease Management System is designed to streamline the application process, reduce paperwork, and increase transparency. Once live, it will provide a user-friendly interface for applicants to submit their applications, track the status, and receive updates on the processing of their leases.
02:23:06 PM 30 December, 2024On December 26, 2024, the IT Department GB successfully conducted a training session on the online CM Task Management System for representatives from various departments at the CM Secretariat in Gilgit. The training aimed to equip participants with the skills to efficiently manage tasks and projects using the online CM Task Management System. This system is designed to streamline workflow, enhance collaboration, and increase productivity. During the training, participants learned about the key features of the system, including Task Creation and Assignment, Real-Time Collaboration, Automationand Customizable Dashboards. They also gained hands-on experience in using the system to manage tasks and projects.
